VPN PROTOCOLS WHICH ONE TO USE?
OpenVPN is a widely used, open-source VPN protocol introduced in 2001. It uses SSL/TLS for key exchange and supports flexible encryption with various ciphers like AES-128/256, ChaCha20, and Blowfish via the OpenSSL library. OpenVPN operates over both UDP and TCP, making it highly adaptable—especially TCP port 443, which helps bypass firewalls and censorship in restrictive regions. Known for its reliability and extensive configurability, it’s a staple in enterprise environments, though its large codebase (~70,000–100,000 lines) makes it slower and harder to audit than newer alternatives.
WireGuard is a modern, lightweight, and fast VPN protocol launched in 2015. Designed for simplicity and speed, it uses a minimal codebase (~4,000 lines), making it easier to audit and less prone to vulnerabilities. WireGuard employs state-of-the-art cryptography: ChaCha20 for encryption, Poly1305 for authentication, and Curve25519 for key exchange. It operates exclusively over UDP, enabling high throughput and seamless network switching—ideal for mobile users. While faster and more efficient than OpenVPN, its lack of TCP support limits its ability to bypass strict firewalls, and it retains user IP addresses temporarily on the server, which may raise privacy concerns in high-surveillance contexts.

Portforwarding yes you can open one port with any shared ip. Software will generate random port for you and you can enter in any application you want. This port can be used with Bitorrent to increase download speeds. [ Port only lasts one day or few day max for security reasons]. You have to regenerate again if you want to use for longer times. The only problem 1 port sometimes not enough and we need extra. Scroll down to find out where to get provider with more ports.

My normal connection in the UK is 900mbps/ download and upload 900mbps

Cardiff Protonvpn test . You can see download speed with vpn on is 848mbps that’s -52mpbs from my normal connection. Upload suffered a lot only 288mbps. Upload speed could be better but download is impressive. I lost a lot of upload speed with this server.
Test #number 2 Manchester server. You can see not much difference speed is about the same. Upload speed is a bit disappointing. But there’s not much we can do here.
[Torguard VPN] 8.5 out of 10. for amazing port forwarding feature.
[Best to use Wireguard config files from torguard website. Native gui client is not the best and a bit slow.]
This provider is unique main reason because of portfowarding. It lets you open 20 ports on any shared ip. This is very useful for many people. [Disadvantage Based in Florida,USA] They proved in court no logs policy safe to use. : TorGuard did not lose the case in court but reached a confidential settlement, agreeing to “use commercially reasonable efforts to block BitTorrent traffic on its servers in the United States using firewall technology”.

Luxembour Upload speed is much higher than protonvpn download speed is not too bad also. UK speeds was almost the same as protonvpn.
Cyberghost VPN 8 out of 10 [FASTEST UPLOAD SPEEDS lowest ping] NO PORT FORWARDING FEATURE.
You can see upload speed improved alot with cyberghostvpn. Also it depends which server you are connected to. You can get very close speeds to your real connection sometimes. Good provider i recommend you can’t go wrong with this.
MY recommended 3 VPN PROviders. Cyberghostvpn for fastest speed and online games. TORGUARD for port forwarding and file sharing also very good security only vpn proven with no logs.. Protonvpn for overall security and regular usage.
